@StillIRise1963 I live in North Carolina, whose coastal areas, particularly the barrier islands, are among the ones most at risk from sea-level rise, and I have many relatives in Charleston, much of which is reclaimed seabed that's about to get re-reclaimed. It's gonna be a mess, and poor, Black, and brown people are going to bear the brunt of it.

While the U.S. is trying to spin its abstention, rather than veto, of the UN Security Council resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza as not representing a shift in policy, it most certainly is.

Of course, this is not the result of some change of heart by the U.S. regime, but rather due to the relentless efforts of innumerable folks around the country to lift up the Palestinian cause, to demand an immediate ceasefire, and to demonstrate the political cost to those in charge of continuing with the status quo.

It is disheartening beyond belief that the notion of opposing genocide should require such mobilization, but such are the fascistic times we live in. And while a victory, it is not time to let up the pressure. Nonetheless, much love to those organizing and mobilizing and acting for Palestinian liberation in whatever ways you are able.

Like, on some level, no responsible politician in America TALKS like that, precisely because violent chuds might read subtext into it. If Tlaib had said something like that, the fash (and plenty of racist/Islamophobes calling themselves "liberals") would never stop howling.

In the grand scheme of things, I don't see why Trump shouldn't have to explain himself here. Make the fash bastard play defense, etc etc. I hope this signals a new era of ppl not letting this fucker get away with ANYTHING.

@AnarchoNinaWrites I think he'll try to use mass violence whether or not he wins the election. If he loses, he'll use it to try to steal the election. If he wins, he'll at least try to unleash mass violence against political opponents as soon as he's sworn in. What happens then depends on how seriously a lot of conservatives take their oaths to uphold the Constitution, so I'm not all that optimistic. @justafrog

@jeffowski Please stop sharing this meme. It's not the pastors who are tax-exempt. It's the churches that pay them that are tax-exempt. Those churches should lose their tax exemptions, but that's a totally separate argument. The pastors are already paying taxes. (Maybe not enough, but in that respect they're no different from nonpastors with similar incomes.)
