Finished that podcast episode on BER and it was really therapeutic because I will never be as bad as "we laid our data, heat and power lines alongside eachother" or "we increased the building size by several thousand SQft but didn't adjust our structural integrity calculations".
So when you're having a bad day just remember, you are not a 16 year 7 billion pound building that won't be profitable until 2034. You're a human doing their best.
@james
I would read it as well.
I find this especially funny as #SoftwareDevelopment always get accused of being so much worse than other engineering.
We are building "houses" since 10000 of years but can't seem to do if it's not a standard "house".
And anecdotal evidence suggest that even "normal" houses come with their share of problems.
Now that #AI can write #code I think the smart career move is to get into #softwareTesting; defining success in a problem space was always the hard part of #softwareDevelopment and will need even better tools now!
I've often scratched my head at Signal's decision-making. Stickers? Stories? I'd rarely use them, if ever. But Signal describes how they are specifically making features for users outside U.S. culture and infrastructural contexts.
Hello! I'm Josh Steele "The Rev. Dev," a pastor-turned-programmer.
I was a #PhD Candidate in theology before quitting the PhD for the sake of my #family (wife and 3 kids) and #mentalhealth. After looking for church work (I'm an ordained priest), I did a #coding bootcamp (Tech Elevator), and now work as a full-time #softwareengineer.

Hi! 👋 I'm mostly here to talk/learn about #agile#softwaredevelopment. I've been building software for over 25 years but only really aware of Agile for half of that. I write in my blog once in a blue moon www.team-agile.com
