Hi there, the Artemis private beta rollout has just started! @hariette will be emailing 50 signup sheet users, while @lilkev will be adding 50 users from Artemis Discord. The order will be based on the submissions to the private beta signup form, as well as general activity within the Artemis community....
Artemis might use a swipe gesture to visually hint at the relation between upvoting and boosting, as shown in the main animation. Here's a static app mockup with both swipe levels displayed. I'd also imagine that there should be a setting that auto-upvotes posts when boosting.
I apologize if this has already been covered, but I’ve seen a lot of people talking about a need for a kbin app. While I agree that a native app would be nice to have eventually, I figured that quite a few people probably aren’t aware of how web apps work. I don’t use Android, so I have no idea if there is an equivalent...
Pssst… can you keep a secret? I'm working on a new Mastodon Reader and would like to hear your feedback.
Here's a Test Flight link if you wanna give the app a try on your iPhone. It is still very bare-bones and incomplete, but your comments will help prioritizing feature sets on the way to version 1.0.
If you need to test your connection speed, if you want something quick and simple on your desktop, then you should try out Speedtest! Using the LibreSpeed backend, you can choose from one of many regional servers to see how your network fares. Check upload and download speeds, your ping and jitter, to see how fast and how reliable your Wi-Fi is
Pipeline gives you a feed of all your favorite YouTube and PeerTube channels. Just add them in subscriptions, set filters if you want, and browse! The app supports saving videos to a watch later tab, or opening them in a separate program for download or streaming. Set these in it's preferences and you have an all-in-one video solution!
There are at least five apps that I know of currently in development for iOS. Unfortunately neither Memmy nor Mlem able to connect to kbin at the moment, something to do with the kbin-specific API from what @ernest, @BrooklynMan, and @gkd have said. Kmoon is specifically being developed for kbin and is multi-platform for iOS and...
Frog is such a neat little Linux desktop app to extract text from images.
You can give it an image (file selector, drag & drop) or let it take a screenshot. And you can even paste an image from your clipboard!
This is great for adding alt text when posting an image or copying text (as text) from a screenshot for sharing (or adding to UI mockups, as I often do).
It also reads QR codes and supports several languages.
Cavalier has more audio visualiser options than you could know what to do with! Play anything on your desktop and watch as the app's waves and bars move in sync with the sound. Pick from 6 drawing modes, then select the visualiser's colors, drawing direction and even choose if you want it wrapped around a in a circle. Cavalier really lets you feel your music!
I’m writing a big mobile #app and round-up for print early next year. If you’ve created something you think would fit the bill, let me know (or remind me, if you’ve emailed before).
Items need to be:
• New or significantly updated in 2023
• iPhone, iPad and/or Android
Tusks is a little indie Mastodon app by @bardi that lets you see just your posts and compose new ones (with a focus on making it easy to compose threads).
Love to see indie devs making useful little tools that do what they say on the tin and nothing more (check out the privacy policy in the attached screenshot).

OC A UI idea on how to merge boosting with up/downvote buttons into one unified voting system in a visual way
