#US and allied intelligence officials are tracking an increase in low-level sabotage operations in Europe that they say are part of a Russian campaign to undermine support for #Ukraine’s war effort.
The covert operations have mostly been arsons or attempted arsons targeting a wide range of sites, including a warehouse in #England, a paint factory in #Poland, homes in #Latvia and, most oddly, an Ikea store in #Lithuania.
"Security concerns relating to the situation in the Middle East have forced Kraków’s annual #Jewish festival, which is one of the largest in #Europe, to cancel the public concert that is normally the centrepiece of the event. The decision was made after consultation with the police.
The Jewish Culture Festival has been taking place since 1988 and is seen as an emblem of the revival of Jewish life and culture in a country where Jews once made up 10% of the population but were almost completely wiped out in the #Holocaust."

(I have a personal rule of not taking photos of people based on what they're wearing, especially when it's about such a weak premise as matching clothes. But I'm sloooooowly getting better at finding stronger reasons to break this rule)
🇪🇺 European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has backed a demand from Polish and Greek Prime ministers Donald Tusk and Kyriakos Mitsotakis to create an EU-funded air defense shield.
We are finding out who the real fascists are in the world today. The christian Taliban leadership of Poland standing firm behind the genocidal regime of Israel.
EU should have punished and even kicked Poland out of EU when they became the torture center for CIA and US state department during Bush presidency.
But sadly, crimes against EUs so called fundamental foundation of human rights, don't cover crimes against Muslims or people of color. Not to forget their outrageous Taliban style abortion laws or continues torture, mistreatment and even murder of immigrants.
Greek and Polish leaders asked European Commission President Ursula Von der #Leyen to lead a charge to create a common air defense shield that would be financed by the bloc.
Von der Leyen blessed the idea in a post on X Thursday as she renewed her call for more common defense projects.
The two leaders are also asking for the issue to be discussed at the next #EU summit at end of June.
During my long May weekend in Kraków I had a rare occasion to grab a few beers with my remote teammates. We finished the evening early, but two of us decided we're not done and went for a late night walk.
Half an hour before the alcohol prohibition (yup, it's a thing in this one city in Poland!) we bought a few beers and started sipping them illegally in one of the local parks.
And guess what? Well, my teammate had a skateboard. And I had my fastest lens on my camera.
So, what happened next? Well, around 2am somewhere in the center of Kraków one IT nerd started testing his old skateboard skills. The other IT nerd sat on the ground and started stress-testing his Viltrox f/1.4 lens and an ISO setting well above 20k.
My lovely friend successfully landed a few jumps.
I missed a lot of frames because focusing late at night is hard, but a few serviceable frames happened as well.
So yeah. 90% of people will stop to look at my boring touristy snapshots and move on. I'm more excited about this spontaneous drunk session in extreme lighting conditions. 🤷
🇵🇱🇺🇸 #Poland signed an agreement with the United States for the delivery of a $960 million airspace reconnaissance system to monitor its north-eastern borders, defence minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz said on Wednesday.
Once Polish, and now Ukrainian, the PT-91 Twardy tank (a deep modernization of the T-72) is in service with the 22nd separate mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The crew of the tankers of this almost 30-year-old vehicle (the tank was produced in 1995) says that compared to the Soviet T-72, their tank has a more powerful forced-up engine (850 hp versus 780 hp of the export T-72), with a “faster” reverse gear. #AureFreePress#News#press#headline#Ukraine#Russia#Poland
#Poland's prime minister announced on Tuesday the re-establishment of a commission to look into undue Russian influence, as #Warsaw grapples with what it says is an intense campaign by #Moscow to destabilise the country.
"I issued an order on the establishment of a commission to investigate Russian and Belarusian influence on the internal security and interests of the Republic of Poland in the years 2004-2024," Prime Minister Donald #Tusk said.
