🧵1/3 Tested for you: If I an or people privately, I can no longer interact with them after a short wait, even though I can still see the profile. But I have tried this with and it does NOT work!

"Stay curious!" Today I experimented with this prototype of a portable pocket shrine or lucky charm. The piece can be hung open on the wall or carried as a small bag, or even worn around the neck with a ribbon. Inspired by 19th century , by art books, amulets, old meditation pictures, and cabinets of curiosities. Could there be people who buy such things? 🤔

Inside every part holds a mixed-media collage. In the middle silk scraps with a photo of a historic woman scientist working with a microscope, the word "curiosity" and lichens on bark. Top: a real seed pod, the seeds are glass beads. The pod is applied to silk and embroidered with golden leaves. Right: Embroidered moss and a silver snail amulet. Left: a silver spiral on silk. Bottom: a 1920s poster of an abstract microscope with the words "Keeping up with science".
The backside of the whole shrine. The shape is roughly cruciform. A square area in the centre is surrounded on the sides by small rounded flaps; the flaps are larger at the top and bottom.

The big shop platform for crafters and artists with the E cries that it has to pay the oh-so-evil Digital Services Tax in France and raises fees again (they were already high). I am so fed up with their conditions, with this corporate profit-making, that I have closed my shop for good.
You can continue to buy my art, soon somewhere else. And until then, just ask me directly if you like something!

I'm not naming the company for legal reasons, better not do that either!

Today, I finished a new one of my feat. Jordanita subsolana, a now extinct in our region. My are a mixture of , elements of materials and "civilisation" , like the 8 cm wide cheese box and the precious -cement-waste. My inspirations come from , and my brain.

Manche Menschen verarmen so schlimm in ihren sozialen Skills. Schaffe unterm Wanderzeichenschild. Desorientierte Gruppe wischt manisch auf Handys. Ich Landei: Bonjour! Erschrecken. Nur zwei grüssen zurück. Ich könnte ihnen den Weg erklären. 30 min später kommen sie vom falschen Weg zurück. Panisches Handywischen. Ich schaffe immer noch unterm Wegweiser, aber da sind sie schon wieder falsch abgebogen: Das Navi sagt hier lang! Das Schild und ich kichern. Wir wollen uns nicht aufdrängen.

Our neighbour country expects an extreme with 40°C. This is more than 6-10 degrees than normal because we have APRIL! In some regions this is 15-20 degrees over normal. Crazy!
We are sitting in the middle of the , which is already on our doorstep. Have we ever considered that 1.5 degrees is an average temperature? How will those who get the extremes live? Here it's rather cold but we have winter in France. Never had one in winter ...

I had been in a department for printed books (which are very expensive in France) for ages. It's a pain to search shelves where you can't type in a search term or title! 😂
So many non-fiction books cutely laid out, with umpteen different colourful fonts (where is the design god of revenge?), but hardly any content. Many magazines offer more. Or two tutorials on youtube. There was a terrible Harry Potter hype and two shelves of cooking books. I haven't bought a book. 😞

I hate entangled chaotic yarn strands when working. But yesterday in the embroidery club, we were allowed to help ourselves from the treasure trove of leftover yarn from the festival. And when I saw this lichen colour, I couldn't resist. It will now be untangled and newly wound. Other people pay high prices for meditation courses! 😁 ommmm @embroidery

Pieces that only exist once in the world.
My beloved fairy necklace with earrings went to a client in Hollywood. Paper yarn in fairy green with Japanese glass art. Elaborately handmade. For people who dare.

I still make them today in several colours, but each one is unique. Why did I never made one for me?! 🤔

The necklace from the front is on a black display. The bundled strands of paper yarn gently encircle the neck, with flowers and leaves reaching into the décolleté.
Details of the flower, the leaves and some beads. It is very time-consuming to produce the open forms. You have to carefully twist the yarns backwards with your fingernails and open them before sculpting.

Example: I come home from mowing. My TL is full of calls to stop mowing. This activism is good and important. BUT...

Those who have other needs are often bullied. People in SocMed often don't listen to different thoughts anymore.

I just mowed a far too high meadow in order to promote biodiversity. How so?!?
We had extreme weather. Two early hot summer phases have allowed plants to flourish that hold down anything less robust.

Challenge: How do I eat a whole pineapple in two days? 🍍 😋
Pure luxury from the Zero Waste Box: a pineapple, lots of grapes and tens of mandarins. It's hard to believe that used to throw this away (which is now banned in France). A box in our costs 3 EUR for 2 kg of "ugly" or overripe vegetables/fruits. The very ripe pineapple smells delicious!
