Santa Fe blue doors are usually found adorning old adobe style homes and are a symbol of the architectural charm of this Southwestern city, the capital of New Mexico. The blue is a symbol of the sky and a vibrant contrast to the earth toned adobe. Not just doors, they are artistic expressions.
#Albuquerque Is Throwing Out the Belongings of #Homeless People, Violating City Policy
The city has violated a court order and its own policies by discarding the personal property of thousands of homeless people, who have lost medications, birth certificates, IDs, treasured family photos and the ashes of loved ones.
The cutest little honey bee on a sunflower. She was working so hard. Moving very quickly around the sunflower her legs just loaded with pollen. Somehow she managed to fly to another flower and continue working.
The Colorado River Flooded Chemehuevi Land. Decades Later, the Tribe Still Struggles to Take Its Share of Water.
The Chemehuevi’s reservation fronts about 30 miles of the #coloradoriver yet 97% of the tribe’s water stays in the river, much of it used by Southern #California cities.
When I am below in the valley, I look up, and I see the landscape around me in a certain way. But when I stand at the heights and look down, I see the same landscape in a different way. Perspective matters.
Rust-hued sentinels,
Desert whispers ancient tales,
Monumental grace.
Monument Valley is nestled within the heart of the Navajo Nation. Forces of nature have carved these red sandstone buttes and mesas over eons. Tranquil majesty & an ancient past will envelope you as you take in this vast Southwestern expanse.
Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park (5/13/2023). Monument Valley is part of the Colorado Plateau a geomorphic province of buttes, mesas, volcanoes, deep canyons, & stunning rock colors. At the Grand Canyon in Arizona, USA, the sun appears to go down in layers. Down in the depths, shadows reign, while the last vestige of pulsating glow dances across the tops of the cliffs. It is quiet, calm, serene, and peaceful.
A solitary red chile ristra hangs on the adobe wall in Santa Fe, adding a pop of color to the rustic scene. Quintessentially the southwest, New Mexico. I get a fresh one every single year to hang outside. You can cook with them too. Digitally painted photography
Been sitting on an idling #Southwest jet at #MKE for 3 hours due to weather delays and then a return to the gate for refueling. So after passing through the airport’s ‘Recombobulation Area’ earlier we’re discombobulated again.
Bryce Canyon panorama showcases a sweeping view of an awe-inspiring arrangement of towering hoodoos against an endless Southwestern sky. Standing on the rim is humbling as you take in the Earth's artistry.
The profound wisdom and depth of the Navajo Boy's spirit radiates from his expressive eyes. The lines etched into his face already tell a tale of resilience and a profound connection to his deep-rooted heritage. I recreated this artwork from an image taken by Carl Moon.
On the edge, where nobody is, it's wild and rugged, a bit lonely -- because you stand alone -- but with an unparalleled view unblocked by a forest of others that look too much the same.
We are in danger of becoming a grumpy, cranky people because we are angry and frustrated -- regardless of which side of the political binary we identify with. The key is to identify with neither, moving with strength and grace as we negotiate a world of lies in our search for truth.

Throwback to one of my favorite pictures I've ever taken. My wife (fiancée at the time) sitting inside Delicate Arch in Arches National Park, Utah. Taken 12th June 2008 with a Canon Digital Rebel XTi.
Imagine a world in which there were no color, no variety, in which all the people thought and acted the same -- copying the words, actions, lifestyle, beliefs and dress of media and celebrity "Influencers."
That world would be not only dull, but constricting, coercive, conforming and repressive.
Bryce is a magical, unusual, fascinating place. May the artwork take you to this unique landscape, where you can immerse yourself in its beauty, wildness, and silence.
