@2ndStar@marquito@bauhausmensch@feb@piratenpartei Am Traurigsten finde ich es für die Piraten selbst. Wie soll denn aus einer solchen Kultur was Konstruktives erwachsen? Erwarten das die Sabotierenden überhaupt? Über allem sollten doch die Werte und das ihnen folgende Engagement stehen. Klar, können da Unterschiede bestehen, deswegen wird ja geredet. Manche Dinge sollten aber ein No-Go sein. Etwa Unterstützung von Hasskultur, Entmenschlichung, Lebengefährdung, Demokratieaushöhlung.
Und auch hier muss man sich nochmal klar machen: Wenn man sich von allen toxischen Plattformen "mal eben" zurück zieht, hat man vermutlich gar keine Reichweite mehr. Dafür sind die Piraten zu klein. X ist natürlich einExtremfall.
An sich stellt sich die Frage, wofür die Piraten heute eigentlich stehen!

Looks like #Lemmy and #Kbin keep being mentioned together, which to me suggests we might have averted "mastodonization" of the #threadiverse — i.e. a situation where the whole network gets identified with a single piece of software. 🎉
@hook@rysiek the biggest difference I would give between the two is kbin federates nicely with microblog content. kbin posts will show up properly on something like mastodon instead of just being a headline and link like lemmy stuff. also you can view, follow and create microblog content on kbin

@belastingdienst Beste TU, klopt die zit erbij, maar ik zou het graag in termijnen willen doen, en ik kan die optie op het formulier niet vinden. Bellen met e belastingtelefoon zou ook kunnen, maar gisteren bedroeg de wachttijd meer dan 30 min. is er een andere optie, misschien online, on zo'n termijn machtigings formulier te krijgen?
@RobvanderRijt Het machtigingsformulier is juist bedoeld voor de maandelijkse afschrijving. Zodra je het formulier naar ons hebt gestuurd, zorgen wij ervoor dat er in gelijke termijnen over de rest van het jaar wordt afgeschreven. Dat moet dus helemaal goed komen! ^HS

The network effect for #ActivityPub is gaining some serious momentum right now. As more services adopt the protocol, more people, more communities and more content are added to the network making it increasingly more valuable for everyone. This will only accelerate in the coming months as Threads, Wordpress, Tumblr, Flipboard and others federate.
We're still in early innings but there's no way to put this genie back in the bottle. The open social Web / the #Fediverse is going to be huge.
@kajkandler This is a really good question because ActivityPub is similar to RSS with two really important differences. 1) ActivityPub is two way. While RSS broadcasts content it does not have a way to know if someone liked, boosted or commented on that content. 2) RSS forms a connection between a blog and an RSS app. ActivityPub forms a follow connection between an account and another account. This means if you move from one reader app to another the connection is maintained.
@nunesdennis@evan Our plan is to fully federate in the coming months so that anyone in the Fediverse can follow and engage with anyone curating on Flipboard and anyone on Flipboard can follow and engage with any public account in the Fediverse.

THREAD: I made a series of images for an Instagram post I made about migrating to the fediverse. I figured I'd share with anyone else who wants to use, so I included some blank template versions too. I now pretty much only use my real name on most platforms and have for a few years now.
I used to use Hawkwind as my username most everywhere and did so since around 1986. Hawkwind, the Seer Of Souls, is a character that was first introduced in my favorite game of all time, Ultima IV: Quest of the Avatar back in 1986. While it's also a band, it's not associated with the band in any way.
@og That's pretty neat. I would assume it's likely pretty difficult to get the name "OG" on most platforms today though. So I'd guess you likely have to add other stuff to OG at times?
