Programmable keyboards with free and open firmware are not just geek toys but accessibility tools.
I was just able to create a new layer in Vial that moves the arrow keys to the left side of the keyboard and maps them to s/z/x/c to make them easier to use in some keyboard shortcuts after breaking my right hand.
Today I am thrilled to be able to share something we at #Desmos Studio have been working on for the past year: a brand new #geometry construction tool. What makes me particularly excited about this product is that we built in robust #keyboard and #ScreenReader support from the start and leveraged #accessible markup everywhere we could. This very well may be the first #accessible digital geometry tool ever built, and we'd love your feedback.
#Challenge: Put your #mouse behind your monitor for an hour and use these #MacOS#Keyboard#Shortcuts instead, Be more #productive.
You'll likely be very surprised how much you can get done with just a keyboard.
DuckDuckFedi, can you recommend me an 88-key velocity sensitive (weighted) MIDI keyboard that doesn't have any weird configuration features that won't work under linux?
I finally packaged up all the design files from my ZX81 Mechnical Keyboard project and published them on github, should anyone else want to make use of them. Enjoy!
Je dois me rendre á l'évidence mon clavier est bogué.
j'ai 1 keycode et keysym pour deux touches.
Ça me prend by le choux cette histoire
CTRL et Home partage les mêmes keycode/keysym
Si une personne dans l'aimable assistance aurait des idées pour modifier l'une des touches.
To all the #mechanical#keyboard nerds… Looking for a customizable low profile 100% keyboard (wired! Not wireless!) which is ultra silent. Switches should be replaceable without soldering. Backlight is optional.
What I found by now: #Keychron Q6. But it is not low profile… and the most silent switches I found are Cherry MX Silent Red.
Would appreciate a boost for higher reach and more responses 😊
"When we use computer keyboards or musical instruments, we need our hands to work unconsciously and automatically. It’s only when injuries happen that we have to surface what’s been unconscious, enter manual mode, and retrain until we can form new unconscious habits. I wish there were an early warning system."
HeliBoard is a privacy-conscious and customizable open-source keyboard, based on AOSP / OpenBoard. Does not use internet permission, and thus is 100% offline.
My review of the RoyalKludge RK84 Wireless RGB Limited Edition Keyboard has been posted to the #AllThingsTech blog and you can view it via the link below.
Let me know your thoughts in the comments below. And remember, if you decide to pick one of these up, or any product from them, you can use my code mentioned in the review to save 10% off your entire order!
I had been using MessagEase for a few years, and was always feeling a bit uncomfortable with it because it's closed source and was unmaintained for years.
I tried out Thumb-Key a while ago, but that's missing some basic features I'm really used to :/
Now that MessageEase is suddenly jumping on the "annoying subscription stuff" train, I really need to switch though... is there any other #Android#Keyboard of this type, that maybe has more features than Thumb-Key?
Know why you can’t clean the greasy spots off your compute keyboard? Because that isn’t grease. Lots of computer keys are made from ABS plastic, which is soft and cheaper than PBT plastic. Those shiny spots are where you polished the keys by typing. #keyboard#computer#cheaphttps://instagr.am/p/C6ICqacrSLW/
Looking for #keyboard / #mechanicalkeyboard recommendations. I want a low profile TKL for the office - brown tactile or scissor, not picky beyond low noise. My Keychron K1 (pictured) is feeling a bit too tall for comfort this year. I love my G915 TKL at home but they're very expensive, so buying another is a last resort. Currently considering a 3Dconnexion Keyboard Pro, I love their mice and the horizontal home-end layout. I don't have time right now to design my own. Boosts appreciated!
