He was one of the first people to demonstrate the illusion of a moving image. To do this, he used counterrotating disks with repeating drawn images in small increments of motion on one and regularly spaced slits in the other. He called this device of 1832 the phenakistiscope. via @wikipedia
If you have a couple of minutes to listen to a genius speak about increasingly urgent matters... May I suggest Ursula K. Le Guin’s Passionate Defense of #Art over Profits?
Plus: intro by another genius and lovely as usual: @neilhimself https://youtu.be/s2v7RDyo7os
More handmade jewellery coming in the next few hours. Would you give a boost to this toot to support a tiny handmade art business? ❤️

LB: if you buy from Etsy, which sucks and is pretty hostile to the creatives who sell on the site, please consider using https://artisans.coop instead. It’s a co-op in the truest sense of the term, in that the organization is run and governed by the artists on the platform. Spread the word!
hey, we just got hit with a huge sudden expense. i don't want to get into details but it'd really help me out if you shared the shop. HOLIDAY23 will still get you 10% off. https://www.nora.jewelry/

Good News! The Artisans Cooperative had its soft opening yesterday. I have around half-ish my stuff onboarded at this point, and will continue adding new things as time permits.
Artisans Cooperative is an Etsy alternative that only allows hand crafted items, nothing mass produced. Member artists get profit sharing from the org.
