I'm a new-ish #writer from Australia. I'm currently working on my first novel, on it’s fifth draft. It'll be the first in a series. I love this story and my characters and hope to publish it once it’s finished.
I'm seeing a lot of people selling advice for writers--plot structure, how to get published, how to self publish, etc--and it mostly looks like a huge scam, a way to get you to give them money that will not put you one inch closer to your goal.
Truth is, it's an industry that might decide it can make money off you, and talent/skill == success.
Eeee just got the proofs of a poem I wrote which is coming out in a journal soon! Especially proud as it's sci-fi, which I find quite challenging as a non-scientist.
Which reminded me: I don't think I've posted here yet that I have a new workshop next month all about writing science fiction when you didn't study science!
Not that I'm an expert. It's offered very much in the spirit of sharing what I learn as I go, and offering a supportive space to try something new 🤖👽🛸🚀🪐
