I have found medication that works for me, and here's my interesting (and surprising) observation:

It doesn't remove ADHD, it empowers it.

This comic has been circulating for some time and it describes how I feel really well.

The author is Toivo Kaartinen, and although they don't have any personal handle online that I can refer to, they are also the author of the web comic "Foxes In Love"

Today I discovered that not only is July Pride Month but also that we have a flag. It is so well done and extremely meaningful. It was created by Ann Magill, a disabled writer.

The entire thing will not fit into the thumbnail but if you open the image, it will tell you what each color and flag feature stands for. It is also in the alt text if you are unable to open it.

Statistically speaking, someone here on Mastodon probably needs to be reminded to move their laundry to the dryer. So be kind and share this toot around. Every bit helps.

I'm and I know food preparation is difficult for many folks in the community.

But learning to feed yourself is a skill that has cascading effects (I get severely depressed if I don't feed myself food I like). Not to mention, not everyone has the $$ for takeout

I've been sending this 'sad bastards cookbook' to everyone https://archive.org/details/sad-bastards-last

It focuses on 'boil water and eat' and 'ingredients that don't go bad'

I don't put projects on the back burner. I put them under the floorboards, where the ever-louder beating of their hearts drives me slowly to madness.

If you are hosting a holiday gathering where or folk will attend (or anyone else who would benefit), please consider setting up a as a quiet space where they can go to escape the sensory onslaught and draining socializing. You can ask people what they might like in a chill room, but snacks, family photo albums, coffee table books, plushies, puzzles, playing cards, comic books, fidget toys, and lego bricks are all reasonable things to try. And it doesn't have to be a solo space – a quiet, out-of-the-way spot to sit and have a conversation is also nice. Protip: If there is an aquarium in the home, use that to anchor the chill space. Nothing beats a good fish tank for chilling out, though a window with a picturesque view is a close second.

If you're someone who would love to have a chill room available at someone else's holiday gathering, try asking them to set one up, or maybe offer to help set it up if that's not too much trouble. Sometimes all you have to do is ask.

Good luck with your holidays, make an effort to include the people whose needs usually get overlooked, and don't let anyone make you feel bad for not being able to keep up with the neurotypical social norms.

[We have another big holiday coming up, so bumping this post again.]

The Federal Trade Commission is STILL accepting complaints from the public related to the shortage of and ADHD medications generally.

One concern is ongoing private equity purchasing of generic pill press companies that is creating artificial scarcity deliberately.

The thing I hate most about "free trials" is that for some reason they always need to get your payment info when you sign up for the "free" part of it.

Like, it's not "try our service and see if you like it." It's "try our free service and forget to cancel it right away so we get money from you you didn't want to spend."

I know I'm stating the obvious and that this is just how this works, but it really bugs the hell out of me because it is so predatory.

It also feels like an tax.
