Wix fires Irish employee for Gaza support, tells staff to “join a company initiative to create videos and creative campaigns”, to “support Israel’s narrative” … “show Westernity” in posts, as “unlike the Gazans, we look and live like Europeans and Americans”. It’s “very important to emphasise this in texts and images so that they feel close to us”

Looking for an old Irish friend called Kieron O'Connor who lived around the Elephant and Castle from the eighties until nearly two decades ago (specifically Rockingham and Borough). He moved back to Ireland (Cork?) and I'd love to get back in touch. Probably about 65 now.

Mastodon hive mind, can you help?

IRISH: [is starving]

CHOCTAW: Aye. Bro, heard u have a colonizer problem.

IRISH: So hungry. No potatoes.

CHOCTAW: Yeh, those are Incan foods actually, but hey. Here's a couple hundred bucks we scraped together. Hope it helps bro.

IRISH: Didn't you just walk the trail of tears?

CHOCTAW: Aye, bro, so that's all we could afford. Sorry it's not much. Fuckin colonizers, right?

IRISH: Fuckin colonizers, man. Besties?

CHOCTAW: Besties.

We’re looking to buy a place in (because renting here is nigh on impossible these days) so I approached a mortgage broker and they just got back to me with this gem:

“Bank of Ireland will not consider your mortgage application because you run a not-for-profit.”

How bloody lovely.

Congratulations on creating a system that rewards the worst of the worst and fucks over those striving to work for the common good. I, for one, won’t be shedding a tear should it burn to the ground.
