Pinterest takes my award for most annoying and useless platform on the internet.
Every link to there is trash that never actually shows you what you clicked on. I quite genuinely detest that site and feel like the internet would be a more functional place without #Pinterest clickbait BS mis-directions infesting (image) searches.
Long before #AI was turning everything to crap, Pinterest was already fire-hosing search with BS.
I'm really hoping for more #Fediverse alternatives to both #Tumblr and #Pinterest as two examples in particular. I'm aware of a few things in the works but nothing concrete as yet?
hi! im new to this place and i'm looking for people in my age group. i know in general there's not many of us on here. i actually joined to scope out the app and figure out how to introduce new gen z users. but who is here already?
It's not unusual for me to come across my own work on Pinterest, but posted by someone who seems to have stolen it. Often, they're selling it.
But tonight I ran into multiple instances of it.
Frustrating, is the nicest thing I can say about it.
It would be nice if Pinterest would auto-fill the contact info when I'm signed in, to make it easier and faster to send in the reports and request for take-down.
@Vivaldi there seem to be some lags when browsing #pinterest which is a bit of a problem for me as a creative art person
it started after the last 2 updates
BTW ... I use the latest snapshot build
This page on Cloudflare is all about adding third-party functionality to your page, so in a way is just a 'Choose which company you want to give your visitor's information to' screen. :kakao_confused:
In the wild west of the internet, this could be a wanted poster.
Google unveils changes before strict EU rules kick in
Google vowed Thursday to be more transparent about content moderation across its services, including its ubiquitous search engine, as tech firms rush to meet stricter European Union rules that kick in this week.
Sweeping rules will apply from Friday to Google, alongside 18 other large social media platforms and websites including Meta-owned Instagram, Twitter (rebranded as X) and TikTok, forcing the companies to better police content, or face the risk of billions of euros in fines.
Among the Google products listed were YouTube, Google Maps, Play, Search, and Shopping.
@2ndStar Hab ich eigentlich die #Pinterest Eskalation verpasst diese Woche oder kommt die erst noch? Muss anfangen mir Erinnerungen zu setzen, ich werde alt.
There's some #SocialMedia that never jived with me. #LinkedIn, for example. I deleted it years ago. I dabbled with #Tumblr and #Reddit, but never got hooked. They didn't last long. #Facebook was the big one. I kicked it to the curb almost three years ago. I liked #Twitter to a degree, but I shut it down last year. I got rid of Instagram the other day. Not sure why I joined. Today, it was my dormant #Pinterest account. All that's left now is #Mastodon. I'm all #Fediverse all the time now, baby.
