Lot's of people asking me why I filed a complaint against #YouTube for their illegal deployment of #spyware to detect #adblockers instead of simply paying for YouTube Premium.
The answer is simple - YouTube Premium has no ads but Google still use it to profile you for advertising on their other products.
I refuse to pay for any service which doesn't respect my fundamental rights.
And so should everyone else, because until they do, Alphabet will continue with their illegal #surveillance.
Meta has to stop surveillance based advertising... in Norway.
The Norwegian Data Protection Authority imposes a ban on Meta carrying out behavioral advertising based on the surveillance and profiling of users in Norway.
This is an important first step, although temporary. What we really need is clear regulation and no way to opt in, as that is always misused.
"NSO Group, which makes Pegasus spyware, keeps trying to extract information from Citizen Lab researchers."
"With the lawsuit now moving forward, NSO is trying a different tactic: demanding repeatedly that Citizen Lab hand over every single document about its Pegasus investigation."
Worth noting that former NSO Group CEO behind this spyware is already back with a heavily VC funded surveillance company called "Dream Security" -
🚨 In tomorrow's vote on the European Media Freedom Act #EMFA, the European Parliament needs to stick up for journalists' rights and for EU's democracy.
