I post about creative stuff, my day & #dogs & #ADHD (the pros & cons) it's #NeuroDiverse not neurodiminished. Surprising how many in creative / tech now have diagnosis.
I believe in hope, in optimism, in learning from our mistakes, adapting, innovating, improving. I like to post about interesting advances, about beneficial things we can, or could do, at individual or large scale.
I like to follow lots of different people. It can be good for keeping a bit of my scrappy european languages skills together too. Also I intensely disliked Twitter's unheard serfs vs broadcasting overlords model of low follows but high following (for post visibility) it seemed sort of arrogant & elitist.
Everyone matters. I profoundly ❤️ that #Fediverse leaves air in the room for the quiet ones, the shy ones, the awkward ones. Sometimes I can talk to a room, sometimes I'd rather watch from the sides, depends on the day or setting.
That's probably enough for most people, I might add more below.
Practical example of this that affects millions: people with #ADHD Have less dopamine in their brains (oversimplification). Dopamine is one of the things that must be present to form a memory. Less dopamine = fewer memories (again, oversimplification).
ADHD people are incredibly forgetful and spend our lives being gaslit by people in our lives who have heard these 🐄💩 lines, and parroted them without thinking.
Also providing Alt Text is not being “passive-aggressive” (especially accompanied by the #Alt4U or #AltText4U hashtag). It’s a good faith attempt to make it EASIER for you to just copy-paste that text if you want. People with #ADHD for example, often forget or find the task too difficult, and that’s a way to remove another barrier for those of us who struggle with that mental task.
If you want to request that someone else volunteer Alt Text, just ask and/or you can use the #AltText4Me hashtag.

Being aware of this temporary hell that many of us visit from time to time can help to cope with it. It helps, too, to know that you are not alone in feeling this way sometimes, and that your feelings are lying to you when they tell you that you don't deserve to live.
I think we react this way because of trauma. I don't think it's intrinsic to our brain wiring. The world tells us so often that we are human garbage. You are not garbage. Every human life has value, including your own.
Okay, #ADHD folks - what symptom suddenly makes sense, now that you understand ADHD better?
I'm not talking about general stuff, like difficulty concentrating, I'm talking about specific phenomena, like having trouble following a conversation at a party.
I always thought I had this problem because my ears are about a foot higher than the people speaking, but now I'm starting to think that the real difficulty is that my brain has trouble turning the volume down on all the other talking in the room.
(I will occasionally repost this, along with whatever new symptom I've thought up... Apologies for the repetition)
M’yello. I am giving Mastodon another shot. So here’s another #introduction :
I am a #TwitterRefugee from The Great Migration.
I love humor, jokes and funny toots.
I love to read. Mostly horror and thriller.
I love art doodling and music.
Also, not that it defines my life, but I am just now embracing my #ADHD and how it affects my daily existence.
Registration is open for the next Hacking Executive Function Webinar. This session is focused on Executive Dysfunction experienced by teachers in the classroom, particularly in post-secondary education.
This session will be on October 24th at 11am eastern. Registration form at:
Hey #Neurodivergent Mastodon do you play TTRPGs? I could use your help. I am working on a set of safety tools for those with #ADHD, #Autism, and other neurodivergences and would love some feedback on its current state.
I have a form setup for feedback. You can also find the current version of the safety tools there. Any feedback you can provide is very much appreciated. Let's make sure the tools are as helpful as they can be.
Bah, three hours sleep, and I didn't do anything productive or social last night. Task paralysis is a sonofibitch. I figure the conversation went like:
😁: "Alright brain what thing do next? Chores, server, peertube relaunch, music? Schoo-"
Howdy kind Mastonauts! 😁 Welcome to this new account.
I made (another) account to share things that are not health or entertainment related. I have dedicated accounts for those things (links in bio).
I will boost those toots when I feel them "good enough" to share with you.
Moving instances calls for a new introduction to pin!
Hi! I'm Sesselja and I'm a 28 years old trans woman from Iceland.
I have ADHD and a variety of hobbies so I end up jumping between projects in different fields a lot. Currently I'm working on a Cyberpunk RED TTRPG campaign/setting set in Iceland (because I love making more work for myself than I have to), creating a CYOA game engine on Discord with NodeJS, writing something that's looking like it might become a novel, and I have a big pile of unfinished music. Some of these I might finish one day.
I also play games, mostly FFXIV and an unhealthy amount of Magic: the Gathering Arena, and I've been getting into Space Engineers lately as well.
I listen to a lot of electronic music, mostly DNB, mid-tempo bass and dubstep.
Most of the media I enjoy has sci-fi or fantasy elements, but I'm also a sucker for romance webtoons.
Things I do not like include, but are not limited to (in no particular order): Fascists, capitalism, bigots, asparagus
Every now and then I remember something I enjoyed doing as a kid, and I'm shocked nobody realised I was autistic.
Like i remember my mother trying to coax me not to draw floor plans of places we were because it was so weird it embarrassed her.. but nobody thought to ask why a 6 year old was not only obsessed with drawing floor plans, but also had the spatial reasoning to do so?
The next Neurodivergent Burnout webinar will be about writing with Executive Dysfunction. Tune in December 5th, 11am est. Register for more info: https://tinyurl.com/dysfunctionalwriting
This session is going to be unique. I will walk you through my writing process while using my writing guide to write a writing guide luve on Zoom. We will incorporate attendee interactions, thoughts, and testimony. Come Write with Me!
An #ADHD cooking show where in every episode the chef forgot to buy at least 1 key ingredient and has to make a substitution at the last minute. Every third episode, they wander off camera to "go check something real quick" and only come frantically running back when they smell something burning.
ETA: also the kitchen is an absolute mess at then end of every show (and often at the beginning).
I'm a masters postgrad studying #criminology with research interests in #cybercrime, digilantism (hacktivism, etc), and online deviance.
I also love #retrogaming (mostly #DOS games), #movies, and watching a lot of #tv. Sunlight burns but I sometimes go for little hikes and take camping trips with my dog.
