@mibwright my favorite fact about Brazil: if you get caught trying to escape from prison there's no extra punishment, because the law understands that wishing for freedom is not a crime; it's just part of being human.

Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik
I loved the folktale quality to this book and sought to reflect that in the design by using a lot of pattern. The story also has motifs of silver turning into gold and ice & fire.
@grickle As a person born and raised in a city with a centuries old lore of a dragon living in a cave underneath a castle hill (Smok Wawelski) this one hits very close.

@chucker awesome thanks! And yeah, I agree it's way too cheap. Unfortunately lowering it to $0.99 is basically the only way she ever gets any sales and we can't figure out why. It gets good reviews but for whatever reason it can't seem to break out of whatever barrier it's hitting. Maybe we'd have to spend real money we don't have on actual advertising to get over the hump. Dunno.

For fans of dark #fantasy and #GothicFiction and #horror and the Bronte sisters I commend you to MY BROTHER'S KEEPER by multiple-award-winning author Tim Powers. It's about the Bronte sisters, strange systems of magic, a particularly frightening version of ghosts, a kind of werewolf you haven't seen before and--the Bronte sisters. And that drunken savant Branwell Bronte. There's even an excellent dog character. Just a helluva good read, fun in a dark way...scary and enticing.
