In 2022, via the @IrishExaminer, I've been lucky enough to pursue my grá for the chats on a full-time basis.

From Ireland's neurodivergent community, its DIY arts scenes and the Irish language; to astronauts, particle physicists and gosh-dang, mother-heckin' Super Mario.

A (long) thread follows.

God I love my no algorithm feed on here.* The news, commentary, humor, art, nerdists, photography, cooks, bakers, and cheese make it amazing. Keep up the good work everyone. Oh and let me know if I should be following anyone in particular. I'm greedy that way.

Attention . Facebook's blocking of adding to dangerous situations in Canada's north.
Saw this post elsewhere. A radio host in Yellowknife "said that most people in use to access information. But Facebook now denies# Canadians the chance to share the news. This lowers the chance for people to learn about about emergencies and evacuation orders, such as the one that’s just come into place for ."
This needs to get into the news to help pressure Facebook to fix this.

As I read this eulogy for Twitter by journalists, I think what a tell it is. As the eulogy notes, many journalists have remained devoted to Twitter through thick or thin, to the bitter end.

In doggedly remaining on Twitter, they have shown a shocking lack of solidarity to those made much more vulnerable and susceptible to abuse by Musk's Twitter.

Coverage of Kariko and Weissman's Nobel win describe them as, per the language of the Nobel Prize, discovering something, and thus discoverers.

That's certainly true.

But at this point (actually this point is probably behind us) we should probably start entertaining some other language.

In our society we have a bit of a bias that has to do with the sciences.
